Physical education teacher Stephanie Motyl and Kristen Miller of Cupboard of Kindness organized the event.
Students paid $1 or three canned goods to enter a foul shooting contest. Whoever gets the most shots in a minute wins a turkey. The goal was to raise at least $1,000 and nine boxes of canned goods for the Norton Cupboard of Kindness.

"That [the canned goods] was new this year, and I'm really psyched," Motyl said.
As of 2:15 p.m., over $1,100 and 10 boxes of canned goods were collected.
A male and female winner was chosen from each grade.
