Police: Woman Arrested After Trying to Fill Fake Prescription

A 25--old Norton woman was arrested Thursday night.

NORTON, MA - Police charged a local woman after she tried to fill a false prescription on Thursday at a CVS pharmacy.

Raina Jean Mellor, 25, of Norton, was arrested for uttering a false prescription, according to police.

Officers received a report just before 10 Thursday night of a woman attempting to fill a false prescription at the CVS Pharmacy, 35 West Main St.

Earlier in the day, the woman submitted a prescription for Oxycodone to pharmacists at CVS and then left the pharmacy. Pharmacists suspected the prescription to be false and alerted police.

CVS pharmacists called police to report that the female was back in the pharmacy attempting to retrieve the medication. After a brief investigation, the prescription was determined to be false, and the woman was arrested.
