3rd OUI, Injured Hawk: Norwood Police Log

August 8

7:50 a.m. - A caller on Westover Parkway reported an injured hawk. The animal control officer was notified.

6:30 p.m. - Pleasant Street was closed due to flooding.

8:11 p.m. - Following a car crash on Route 1 near University Avenue, Michael Aprille, 53, of Westwood, was arrested on a warrant.

August 9

4:42 p.m. - A caller reported a hit and run in the parking lot of Shaw’s on Nahatan Street. The suspect, Lynne Clarke-Hughes, 56, of Norwood, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor (third offense) and leaving the scene of property damage.

August 10

12:00 a.m. - An assault was reported at a group home on Roxana Street. A person was taken to the hospital with a leg injury.

August 12

12:42 a.m. - A caller on Broadway reported an erratic driver who crashed into a light pole and kept on driving. Officers located the vehicle and the driver, Moses Shiff, 25, of Dorchester, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation, operating a motor vehicle with suspended license, possession of a Class C drug, wanton destruction of property worth more than $1,200, and possession of an open container of marijuana in a motor vehicle.

2:24 a.m. - Following a car crash on Ellis Avenue, Patrick Louis, 31, of Norwood, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
