Former Norwood Hospital Specialist Speaks On Abortion History June 11
Dr. Wayne Perkins practiced at Norwood Hospital from 1967 until his retirement in 2006, where he was president of the medical staff.
NORWOOD, MA - A former president of the Norwood Hospital staff will speak before the Norwood Historical Society on Saturday, June 11 in a presentation called "A History of the Abortion Controversy at Norwood Hospital” at 4 p.m.
The discussion will take place at the F. Holland Day House at 93 Day St.
Dr. Wayne Perkins is a graduate of Westwood High School, Brown University and New York Medical College. He did specialty training at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in obstetrics and gynecology.

He practiced at Norwood Hospital from 1967 until his retirement in 2006, where he was president of the medical staff and chairman of the department of obstetrics and gynecology.
His son, Christopher Perkins M.D., practices internal medicine in Norwood. He lives in Milton with his wife, Dr. Barbara Curran.

The Norwood Record reported in February that Norwood Hospital plans to discontinue its obstetrics program when it opens after the new hospital building is constructed.
