Job Description:
The Call Center Representative II will provide a socially responsible service to Mercer's participant base. Representatives will display knowledge of more than one line of business and will answer incoming inquiries from our client's employees regarding defined contribution retirement plans, defined benefit retirement plans, health and welfare benefit plans, and other human resource related services. They will be proficient in their ability to communicate with impact, apply critical thinking, and show a strong desire to drive for results while working independently in a fast paced, team-oriented environment. Representatives will also perform outbound calls to provide timely follow up on outstanding issues, work on various administrative projects, serve as a role model to less tenured colleagues, and continuously strive to improve.

Qualifications:
- 4 year college degree preferred
- 1-2 years customer service experience in a benefits outsourcing call center
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), ability to delivery, ability to research, follow up and resolve sensitive issues, proficient in working with web based applications and Microsoft Office, keyboarding (greater than 40 wpm), proficiency with all proprietary/internal systems, fluency in Spanish is a plus
- HIPAA certification required upon hire

Patrol facility or man post as instructed and serve as a general security presence and visible deterrent to crime and client rule infractions; detect suspicious activities and watch for criminal acts or client rule infractions at or near assigned post which may be a threat to the property, client or employees at the site. Respond to emergencies, such as medical and bomb threats; and to alarms, such as fire and intrusion by following emergency response proceedings.

Under the direction of the Manager, Patient Access the Financial Counselor/Insurance Verification Specialist is responsible for the review of admissions, surgical day procedures, and outpatient services for insurance data accuracy and determination of benefits and eligibility. Ensuring that all precertification/authorization requirements are satisfied for the purpose of optimal reimbursement. Coordinates with Case Management regarding patient status and insurance authorization changes. Identifies and coordinates assistance to underinsured and uninsured patients through screening and referral to MassHealth Counselors or Patients Accounts. Collects deposits for patient liability as applicable.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma required.
- Three plus years experience with health care insurance benefits, eligibility and authorization requirements preferred.
