Jocelyn & Chris Are Dynamite At Norwood's Fallout Shelter
The sibling duo impressed the sell-out crowd with exhilarating indie rock and a passionate stage presence.
NORWOOD, MA - Sibling rockers Jocelyn & Chris were totally at home and on fire at the Fallout Shelter Dec. 3, giving a commanding two-hour performance that was powerful yet intimate - even performing the acoustic portion of their show from a sofa they brought with them.
The explosive duo burst on stage with the sultry, blues-tinged "Outta My Head" and never looked back.
"This place is magic," Jocelyn told the enthusiatic crowd.

Yet Jocelyn and Chris Arndt, both Harvard grads, were the ones who cast the spell on the audience, taking them on a sonic rock journey tinged with soul, funk and folk elements that showcased their prowess, versatility and range. Equally powerful and complex were the lyrics, which captured a spectrum of emotions from angst to joyful surrender.
Jocelyn's presence was larger than life. Her visceral performance had the crowd mesmerized as she turned each jam into a full-throttled experience. As the dynanics changed from song to song, she would dance in a kinetic frenzy with her long hair flying or sink to the floor in the anguish of unrequited love like a woman posssed by her craft.

Chris's virtuostic guitar riffs amplified the spirit of the music, providing the foundation that made each track soar.
The rollicking, playful "Make a Move" was followed by "Jagged," a deep, soulful plunge in to the depths of love gone wrong.
"Ready Steady Go" was a fan favorite, a scorcher that evoked screams from the crowd.
"Mercy Me," a new ballad, showcased the group's more soulful, mellow side. This provided a seamless transition into the acoustic portion of the show, where Jocelyn & Chris played tracks from their upcoming release, "Favorite Ghosts." The album drops next month.
"Popcorn" is a somewhat lighter look at the search for love, while "Black and Blue" swelled with dark intensity over a painful breakup. "Runaway," which is expected to be the next radio single, is sure to become an instant classic.
One of the show's highlights was "The Western." Jocelyn & Chris know how to work the crowd like musical fishermen, bringing them into a fun sing-a-long then stepping up the pace before slowing the tempo to keep everyone wanting more.
A cover of Jewel's "Who Will Save Your Soul" allowed Chris to display his guitar chops in an extended solo worthy of Jimi Hendrix.
After that, it was a non-stop onslaught of earth-shattering, edgy alternative rock. "Witness" was hot and intense, and "Skeleton Key" was a hard-driving, head-thrashing blast. The sassy, jazzy "Original" built up the momentum for the climax - the recently-released "Sugar and Spice," which landed on Billboard's Top 40 Alternative Airplay chart. A funky, bluesy groove laid the foundation for the emotional rollercoaster of attraction, with lyrics as intense as the melody.
Jocelyn & Chris, backed by a stellar band, has created its own brand of catchy millenial alt-rock. Their lyrical and melodic fusion, combined with a commanding on-stage presence, will continue to propel them into the stratosphere for years to come.
