Norwood Police Arrest Two Suspects for Cocaine Related Charges

Denny German and Derek Hamlin were arrested on Friday after detectives observed German selling five bags of cocaine to Hamlin.

 

Norwood and Wellesley detectives of the NORPAC Task Force were conducting surveillance on St. James Street, near Washington Street, for a drug dealer on Friday. According to police, the detectives observed Denny German, 31, of Salem, sell five $100 bags of cocaine to Norwood resident Derek Hamlin,33.

After the transaction was done, both individuals were placed under arrest.

Hamlin was charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B Cocaine and Conspiracy to Violate the Controlled Substance Act, according to police.

"The five bags of cocaine and approximately $1,000 cash were seized from him at the time of his arrest," police said.

German was charged with Trafficking in Cocaine and Conspiracy to Violate the Controlled Substance Act.

"German is charged with having in excess of 18 grams of cocaine.  Over $2,000 was seized from him at the time of his arrest," police said.
