Norwood Police Log: Man Arrested for Larceny and Drug Possession

Wednesday, Oct. 17

9:37 a.m. - Walk-in to the department reported an ongoing problem with a shoplifter at Stop & Shop on Boston-Providence Highway. Police filed a report.

10:32 a.m. - Officer reported finding a syringe at Washington St. and Upton Ave. Returned it to the station for disposal.

2:50 p.m. - Caller reported his coat and phone were stolen while at the Senior Center for a meeting. Police filed a report.

5:21 p.m. - Caller reported a motor vehicle accident on University Ave. Norwood Fire responded, one vehicle towed from the scene.

5:47 p.m. - Caller reported a disturbance on Berwick St. As a result, police arrested one Norwood woman for assault and battery.

6:32 p.m. - Caller on Hill St. reported rings stolen and checks from checkbook missing and cashed. Officers to file an initial report and will also conduct further investigation.

6:44 p.m. - Walk-in to the department reported vehicle keyed while at the Norwood Depot train station. Police filed a report.

Thursday, Oct. 18

12:20 a.m. - Caller reported male walked into Mobil Gas on Dean St. and Route 1, bleeding and stating he is in trouble. Officers responded to home address for more information. Was determined that victim's roommate was the aggressor. Police issued a criminal complaint for assault and battery for one Norwood resident.

4:06 a.m. - Caller reported a black pick-up truck in the driveway of #9 Railroad Ave., house under construction. Stated male dressed all in black going through garage, removed a ladder, put it in the truck and proceeded to go through the house. Officers responded to area. As a result, the suspect was located on Adams St. Police arrested Lawrence P. Parnell, of Foxborough, for larceny from a building, felony entering a dwelling at night, and possession of a class B substance.

12:46 p.m. - Caller on Norwest Dr. reported vehicle window damaged by a BB gun. Police filed a report.
