Norwood Police Log: Underage Drinking, Stolen Narcotics

Friday, June 8

11:20 a.m. - Caller reported male sleeping in the Town Hall building. Police moved the party along, no sign of breaking and entering.

3:50 p.m. - Caller reported motor vehicle accident at Lenox and Nahatan streets. Norwood Police and Fire responded, two vehicles towed from the scene. Police filed a report.

4:13 p.m. - Caller reported geese crossing Boston-Providence Highway. Responding officer stated animals gone on arrival.

4:28 p.m. - As the result of a motor vehicle stop, police arrested four parties (one juvenile) for distributing alcohol to a person under the age of 21, and possession of alcohol under the age of 21. One was also arrested for possession of a class D substance.

Saturday, June 9

8:01 a.m. - Caller reported injured cat at Nichols St. and Florence Ave. Animal Control notified.

9:40 a.m. - Caller reported syringe found on the sidewalk at Washington St. Responding officer disposed of same.

1:54 p.m. - Caller reported motor vehicle accident at Cross and Pleasant streets. One vehicle towed from the scene, police filed a report.

8:07 p.m. - Walk-in to the department reported a past hit and run. Police filed a report.

11:27 p.m. - Caller on Cedar St. reported hearing gun shots. Responding officers stated all quiet in the area.

Sunday, June 10

12:20 a.m. - Caller at McDonald's on Boston-Providence Highway reported fireworks or a smoke bomb in the bathroom emitting smoke. Police and Fire responded, stated no fire occured.

1:40 p.m. - Caller at Walgreens reported narcotics missing from a U.P.S. package delivered last week. Police filed a report.

5:15 p.m. - Caller reported she left her pocketbook in her car on Plymouth Dr. Friday and someone took it. Police filed a report.

6:29 p.m. - Caller on Greenwich Rd. reported someone damaged shrubs in his backyard while he was out. Responding officer reported damage done by a deer.

7:07 p.m. - Caller on Beech St. reported that someone took a bike from his side porch. Police filed a report.

9:43 p.m. - Caller at Dunkin' Donuts on Nahatan St. reported a drunk male yelling in the store. Responding officers placed one male into protective custody.
