The Norwood varsity baseball team's postseason run was put to an end Friday night by Xaverian in the MIAA Division 1 South Semifinals. The Mustangs lost to the Hawks, 4-2, at home Friday night after the game was postponed from Thursday due to rain. Norwood trailed Xaverian by three in the second inning, and then answered with two runs of their own. However the Hawks defense kept the Mustangs at bay for the remainder of the game, and put an end to their season. The team had narrowly defeated the third-seeded Marshfield to advance for the first time since 2003. Xaverian now moves on to its third straight sectional final appearance. The Mustangs finished the season with a 17-6 record.
