Norwood schools safe after TikTok challenge threat of nationwide school violence Friday
Concerned parents kept kids out of school as a precaution

NORWOOD, MA - The Norwood Public Schools did not experience any threats of violence as a result of today's nationwide challenge Friday on the social media platform TikTok
The post referred to a threat to school safety "for every school in the USA, even elementary," on Friday, December 17.
"No Threats- finger in a crossed position," said Superintendent David Thomson in an email Friday morning. "Unfortunately our attendance rate has fallen to 77%; normal is about 93%."

Area school districts took the same approach, including the public school districts in Dedham and Canton.
