Norwood Wrestlers Grapple in State Championship Tournament
Two wrestled into the second day of the tourney.

Three Norwood Mustang wrestlers qualified for the Massachusetts Division 2 State Championship Wrestling tournament held at Beverly High School.
The Phil Mastro coached mustang grapplers who participated in this two-day tournament were sophomore Garfield Sales in the heavyweight class, Senior co-captain Mike McDonough in the 160-pound weight class and senior co-captain JJ O’Donnell in the 170-pound weight class.

McDonough and O’Donnell wrestled themselves into the second day of the tournament and McDonough earned a seventh place finish in Division 2 wrestling with some big wins, including a pin over Hopkinton and wins over North Attleboro 7-3 and Salem.
ODonnell finished fourth in the Division 2 State Championship tournament. Although losing to the eventual state champion, heearned his fourth place medal with some big wins including a 14 to 5 win over Algonquin, wins over Beverly 12 to 6 and Milford 5 to 1 and a technical fall over Malden Catholic 18 to 2.
