Norwood's biggest community celebration returns, but not without drama.

Perhaps the town's largest public event, Norwood Day returns in 2025, but will include an unrelated rally with an important message to the town.

On Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 10:30a.m. to 3:00p.m, the Norwood town common will be a buzz with it's annual, fun-filled community event that promises entertainment, local commerce, and family-friendly activities for residents and visitors alike. The event also features a live stage with performances from local groups, providing a platform for our community's talented singers, dancers, and musicians. You can buy your Norwood Day Buttons in advance for $5 each at the Civic Center, Town Hall, Library, and Senior Center.

However, a group in support of reopening Norwood Hospital is planning a Rally in the common to draw attention to the fact that the hospital remains closed. A Facebook post by State Representative Marcus Vaughn who represents the 9th Norfolk district, asks supporters to "pack the Common with 2,000+ voices calling for action" and planned the rally to begin before the Norwood Day festivities begin and will include guest "speakers, signs, and a push for real answers" (Vaughn, 2025). Vaughn links the Finish Norwood Hospital website to his public post (finishthejobnorwood.com).

Washington Street from Nahatan to Guild/Walpole St will be closed to through traffic before, during and after the event.
