Margaret R. (Agee) Barker, RN, of Norwood, passed peacefully on May 18, 2012.

Margaret R. (Agee) Barker, RN, of Norwood, passed peacefully on May 18, 2012 in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. Peggy was born in Lima, Ohio on January 19, 1929 to Gertrude (Franks) and John Agee. She was the youngest of their six children. She was a graduate of Ellis Hospital School of Nursing, Schenectady, NY. For a number of years she served as a school nurse in Collingswood, NJ. In the 1980's she moved to Norwood and worked for the Norwood/Westwood VNA and later in nursing with the Norwood Board of Health until her retirement in early 2000.
Her passion in life was nursing and she continued to keep up with new information in medicine long after retiring. She was an exceedingly knowledgeable and compassionate nurse. Peggy was a long-time member of the First Congregational Church of Norwood and also volunteered on The Women's Community Committee as Treasurer of their "Thrift Shop." Peggy was the wife of the late Arthur C. Barker. She is survived by her sister, Betty Agee of Camden, NJ, nine nieces and nephews, numerous great nieces and nephews, and several great, great nieces and nephews.

On May 26 at 11:00 a.m. there will be two services simultaneously held as celebrations of her life: First Congregational Church of Norwood, MA, 100 Winter Street; Logan Memorial Presbyterian, Merchant Street, Audubon, NJ. The family wishes to thank the staffs of Caritas-Norwood Hospital; Charlwell House in Norwood; Village Crossing at Cape Elizabeth; Home Instead, Inc. and Beacon Hospice for their integrated and loving care. In lieu of flowers, donations are respectfully asked by the family to be made to your favorite charity.
