Police Warn of Scams Targeting Norwood Elderly
Norwood Police would like to urge citizens to watch out for this suspicious activity.

Norwood Police would like to alert the public to the following information about scams that have occurred in the area.
The scams have targeted the elderly, but the police are urging everyone to stay aware.
The following is from the Norwood Police statement:

"The first scam is a telephone call to the victim where the suspect on the other end identifies themselves as a family member or an associate of. They explain that money is needed because they are in some sort of trouble. The caller most likely directs the victim on how to wire the money to them or where to deliver."
"The second scam is two suspects come to the home of the elderly and identify themselves as utility workers. While one suspect interacts with the elderly the other wanders off through the house looking for items to steal."
