Question of the Day: Thomas for President?

Bruins' goalie Tim Thomas snubbed the invite to the White House yesterday, calling the federal government "out of control."

Bruins' goalie Tim Thomas chose not to attend yesterday's ceremony at the White House, honoring the 2011 Stanley Cup team, according to GM Peter Chiarelli.

Boston.com reported that Thomas later issued a statement, saying, "I believe the Federal government has grown out of control, threatening the Rights, Liberties, and Property of the People."

"I can require someone to attend a team event. If they don't, I can suspend him," Chiarelli said. "I'm not suspending Tim. Whatever his position is, it isn't reflective of the Boston Bruins nor my own. But I'm not suspending him."
