Rep. John Rogers to Run Triathlon for Matt Brown
The representative and his wife will participate in the triathlon next Saturday in a bid to raise $20,000 for Brownie Points.
Next Saturday State Representative John H. Rogers and wife Brenda will be kicking off a third of a mile swim, followed by a 10-mile bike, and finishing with a 3.1 mile run in a bid to raise $20,000 for Brownie Points, the charity established in the name of Norwood’s Matt Brown.
“I am very grateful to the charity group that has generously pledged to sponsor Brenda and me at $10,000 each and we are even more humbled that the gift comes this way,” said Rogers, referring to the donor’s desire to grant the $20,000 the Matt Brown charity anonymously.
The Rogers couple has been training for the event at the Vanderbilt Club in Norwood.

“The major difference will be climatic," said Rogers. “Brenda and I have been training in a heated pool for the swim and in an air-conditioned room for the bike and run, but the ocean water promises to be frigid and rain is expected.”
Regardless of the conditions, Rogers said that he and his wife, are very happy to be able to raise money for one of their favorite charities in honor of one of the favorite people.
