Rep. Rogers Meets with Disabilities Providers

Rep. John H. Rogers (D-Norwood) welcomed local members of the Association of Developmental Disabilities Providers to the State House for their annual meeting.

Rep. John H. Rogers (D-Norwood) welcomed local members of the Association of Developmental Disabilities Providers to the State House for their annual meeting on Jan. 17. ADDP member organizations provide critical supports and services in 351 cities and towns throughout the Commonwealth. 

Meeting with Rep. Rogers to discuss the needs of the developmentally disabled community and the programs which provide them the necessary support to meet their challenges were Daniel Burke, President/CEO of Lifeworks, Inc. and South Norfolk County ARC; Norwood resident Joanne Sarno Smith, Manager of Lifeworks Howard Avenue Group Home in Foxboro and Scott Bock, President/CEO Riverside Community Care. 

“You work so meaningfully every day to enable our fellow brothers and sisters with developmental disabilities to lead the most independent and fulfilling lives as possible,” Rogers said to the providers.

The provider group discussed how important the state budget is to the success of their work and advocated for continued funding for residential and transportation services as well as respite and autism programs.
