Rep. Rogers Tours Blue Hills Tech With Norwood Students

State Rep. John H. Rogers (D-Norwood) visited Blue Hills Regional Technical School in Canton on Monday, June 4, for a tour of its educational facilities.

Accompanying him were Mr. Kevin L. Connolly, Norwood representative to the Blue Hills Regional School District, Blue Hills Communications Specialist Judy Bass, and two Blue Hills students from Norwood, junior Mark Perkins (who is studying Automotive Technology) and sophomore Trevor Foley (Early Education and Care).

“It is always enlightening to tour Norwood’s other public high school, where our students advance their minds through cutting-edge technical training and rigorous academic courses,” said Rogers. “The Big Blue provides our students a sound foundation for prosperous career paths and our families are lucky to have such a great school within our educational system.”

The group visited all the school's technical programs, as well as the library and Wellness Center.

Some exceptional Blue Hills graduates have come from Norwood including Connolly’s own older brother, James, the Class of 1975 Senior Athlete of the Year, who retired as a Lt. Colonel in the US Marine Corps after 25 years of service; Moses Curry, Class of 2000, who was second in the state in scoring in football; and James Murphy, Class of 1993, the first student from Blue Hills Regional to attend the US Naval Academy at Annapolis.
