RIHA Honors Norwood Hospitality Professional

The RI Hospitality Association (RIHA) recently recognized Shannon Aguiar, Sales Department Manager at Ecolab, as Allied Employee of the Year at its 22nd Annual “Stars of the Industry” Awards Ceremony.

The Stars of the Industry Awards recognizes the outstanding achievements of members of the hospitality, foodservice and tourism industries. Award recipients were chosen not only for their dedication and contributions to their careers, but for their involvement in their local communities.

“It is with great pleasure that I recognize Shannon as Allied Employee of the Year,” said Dale J. Venturini, President and CEO of RIHA. “Her many achievements have helped make the hospitality industry one of the most successful, strengthening the industry’s position as the cornerstone of the State’s economy and the community.”

Shannon graduated from Johnson in Wales University in 2007 with an Associates degree in Culinary Arts and a Bachelors of Science degree in Food Service Management. In 2008 she began working at Ecolab as a Territory Manager. She maintained this position for two years managing southern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. In January of 2011 she became a Sales Development Manager where she focuses on learning her customer’s operations and developing an understanding of their cleaning challenges and identifying cleaning solutions to meet their needs.

With more than 600 foodservice and hospitality members in Rhode Island, the RI Hospitality Association has been the voice of the hospitality in the state more than for 30 years.
