The Norwood Farmer's Market began 17 years ago, and was originally located on the town common. The decision was made this year to move it back to the original location after several years in the parking lot behind Babel's. When the three participating farmers didn't want to move to the new location, the committee was formed to reestablish the market.

Taylor said that the set up for the market will be very different than when it was on the common previously, and that the Advisory Board is working with the vendors and the town to make for a smooth process.

The Advisory Board is also planning some entertainment for the market this season, including a musical trio for the lunch time hours and possible storytime for kids by one of the Norwood librarians.

"I think it will be an event," Paciorkowski said. "I think it will draw people to downtown."

The Selectmen were positive about the progress of the market.

"It sounds like you have perfected this plan," Selectman Helen Abdallah Donohue said.

Selectman Paul Bishop quoted "Field of Dreams" speaking about the possiblity of the market bringing traffic back to the center of town: "If you build it they will come."
