A fast-arriving summer storm Thursday put a stop to the MIAA South Division 1 semifinals game between Norwood and Xaverian after just one inning. The game will resume Friday at 7 p.m. in Norwood with the Hawks holding a 1-0 lead. The Mustangs narrowly defeated the third-seeded Marshfield, 11-10, this week to advance. The team is now 17-5 on the season and is facing the number 15 Xaverian, 14-8 this season. The Hawks defeated Silver Lake, 2-1, in the quarterfinals. This is the first time the team has advanced this far since 2003. Fans with tickets from Thursday's rainout will be admitted to Friday's game free of charge.
