State Sen. Rush, Rep. Rogers Remind Voters That Primary will be Sept. 6

Given the unusual timing of the election - a Thursday rather than a Tuesday - Rush and Rogers have issued a reminder to ensure that constituents are informed.

Editor's Note: The following is a press release from the legislative office of State Senator Mike Rush.

State Senator Mike Rush and Representative John Rogers issued a reminder yesterday to voters in Norwood to vote in the upcoming state primary election on Thursday, Sept. 6.

The timing of the election, which falls on Thursday rather than on Tuesday, is unusual. The change is a result of the "normal" primary election day falling on Rosh Hashanah this year. State officials selected Sept. 6 as the new election day, which would provide time to print absentee ballots for November to send to military personnel. However, Tuesday, Sept. 4 was not an acceptable date because of its proximity to the Labor Day holiday and voters’ vacations. Because of the circumstances resulting in this unusual election date, Rush and Rogers have issued a reminder to ensure that constituents are informed.
