Two Rescued from MVA Entrapment in Norwood
Norwood police and fire worked to rescue two parties from a vehicle in a construction trench on Hampden Dr.

Police and Fire responded when two people were trapped in a motor vehicle accident Thursday just before noon on Hampden Dr. in Norwood, NFD spokesman George Morrice said Friday.
"Norwood Firefighters successfully extricated an older man and woman from car entrapment on Hampden Court Thursday," he said in an email. "Calls for the accident came in at 11:48 a.m. and crews arrived shortly thereafter."
According to the Norwood police logs the vehicle was driven into a construction trench and the driver and one passenger were trapped inside.

Morrice said that the "unique circumstances" of the accident forced fire crews to traverse a deep ditch with ladders, and on-site construction personnel fabricated a platform out of lumber to access the trapped parties.
Norwood Fire Paramedics evaluated the two, who were both conscious, while the NFD Engine 4 crew removed two doors from the vehicle for better access.
