Weekend Police Logs: Dec. 16-18

Friday, Dec. 16

6:25 a.m. - Caller on Pleasant St. reported a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian. NPD and Bureau of Criminal Investigation on scene with Medical Examiner and State Police stated one fatality. Police investigating the incident.

8:02 a.m. - Caller at Absolute Metal Finishing on Northview Ave. reported tires on all motor vehicles slashed. Police filed a report.

11:01 a.m. - Walk-in to the department reported GPS stolen from vehicle while being serviced at Jiffy Lube on Boston-Providence Highway. Police filed a report.

1:27 p.m. - Caller on Railroad Ave. reported items missing from vehicle while parked overnight. Police filed a report.

8:40 p.m. - Caller reported someone lying on the ground covered in vomit near Norwood High School. Police took one female into protective custody.

Saturday, Dec. 17

2:14 a.m. - Caller reported an altercation at a School St. residence. As a result, police arrested Henry Dietzl, of Norwood, for assault and battery.

1:32 p.m. - Caller at Ocean State Job Lot reported male and female trying to pass counterfeit $100 bills. Police filed a report.

3:10 p.m. - Caller reported money missing from a rental car on Walpole St. Police filed a report.

11:52 p.m. - Caller reported a hit and run at Mobil Gas on Washington St. Police filed a report.

Sunday, Dec. 18

12:50 a.m. - Walk-in to the department reported vehicle hit a deer on Pendergrast Cir. Police spoke with driver, examined vehicle.

3:49 p.m. - Department received a 911 call, caller hung up. Upon call back woman stated an argument with husband who is drunk. Police responded to the address on Norwest Ave. and took him into protective custody.
