Weekend Police Logs: Jan. 6-8, 2012

Highlights from the daily police logs.

Friday, Jan. 6

2:22 p.m. - Cruiser involved in a motor vehicle accident at Norwood Depot MBTA station. Police filed a report.

3:30 p.m. - Caller reported kids fighting at Murphy Memorial Field on Pleasant St. Officers responded, reported five friends horsing around, no fight.

4:01 p.m. - Caller on Walpole St. reported a subject trying car door handles. Police responded and checked out one subject in the area, no warrants. No arrest was made.

Saturday, Jan. 7

3:55 a.m. - Caller reported two vehicles broken into on Woodbine Rd. Stated seeing a man wearing jeans and a dark jacket with a hoodie underneath. Officers responded, were unable to locate the suspect.

3:21 p.m. - Caller on Rock St. reported a rock through their window. Police filed a report.

3:27 p.m. - Caller on Dean St. reported hens, roosters in the road. Norwood Animal Control responded, reported animals not in the public roadway.

6:56 p.m. - Caller reported hit and run on Broadway St. Police filed a report.

Sunday, Jan. 8

12:55 a.m. - Caller reported vehicle stolen from Norwood Town Taxi on Cottage St. Police located the vehicle on Central a couple blocks away, no damage observed and nothing stolen from the vehicle. Police filed a report.

1:15 a.m. - Norwood Fire Department at Walpole and Hoyle streets reported a patient out of control. Officer reported subject transported to hospital and then placed under arrest. Christopher Mahoney, of Norwood, was arrested for a previous warrant and assault on ambulance personnel.

1:28 p.m. - Caller reported larceny of money at Norwood Hospital. Police filed a report.

4:07 p.m. - Walk-in to the department from Molloy Construction on Davis Ave. reported larceny of tools. Police filed a report.

9:21 p.m. - Caller reported a vehicle with loud music on Norwest Dr. Officers responded and returned with John Patrick Mahon, of Roslindale, in custody for two previous warrants.
