Third World Reopens After Circuit Avenue Crash (vineyardgazette.com) — Third World Trading Co. on Circuit Avenue in Oak Bluffs has reopened by appointment after a November car crash badly damaged the building’s front. With temporary repairs approved by the town’s building official, the owner is welcoming shoppers through a side entrance while she works through costly rebuilding decisions during the holiday season.
   

2. MVYouth Awards $1 Million Grant to Community Services (vineyardgazette.com) — Martha’s Vineyard Community Services is now just $500,000 away from fully funding a $17.5 million overhaul of its Oak Bluffs campus, thanks to a new $1 million grant from MVYouth. The revamped facility aims to replace aging, leaky buildings with a modern center focused on childcare, family support, and youth mental health services for Island residents.
   

3. Retired Edgartown Police Chief Dies (vineyardgazette.com) — Oak Bluffs residents are joining neighboring towns in mourning retired Edgartown police chief David Rossi, as the Oak Bluffs Police Force publicly shared condolences alongside other Island departments. Rossi, a former school resource officer and later Edgartown’s chief, is remembered for his compassion, leadership, and decades of service that shaped local policing across Martha’s Vineyard.
   

4. Bowling brings purpose for Islanders - The Martha's Vineyard Times (mvtimes.com) — Oak Bluffs’ Barn Bowl & Bistro is buzzing again as the Island’s Special Olympics ten-pin bowling team starts its third season of weekly practices. Open to Islanders with disabilities from teens to adults, the inclusive program builds friendships, confidence, and competition skills ahead of regional and state tournaments later this winter.
   

5. Revamped ferry reservation system to include improved website - The Martha's Vineyard Times (mvtimes.com) — Oak Bluffs residents who rely on the Steamship Authority can expect a revamped reservation system and website next fall, promising easier booking and better real-time alerts. At a recent Tisbury open house, Islanders pushed for improvements for medical trips, pets, and standby lines, while an Oak Bluffs software veteran volunteered as a beta tester to shape the upgrades.
