• Rodriguez Sworn In Dec. 5 As Worcester County Correctional Officer (warwickpost.com) — A new class of Worcester County correctional officers, including Jonathan Rodriguez, was sworn in in Paxton at Anna Maria College after completing a 13-week training academy. Local readers may know recruits or be interested in applying themselves, as the Sheriff’s Office is already accepting applications for the next academy starting in spring 2026.
   

• State Rep. Kim Ferguson Will Not Run For Re-Election (patch.com) — Paxton residents will see a change in representation as State Rep. Kimberly Ferguson, whose 1st Worcester District includes Paxton, will not seek reelection after eight terms. She highlighted her work on education and leadership roles in the House, and thanked local officials and community members for their support over the years.
