PEABODY, MA — Superintendent Cara Murtagh could choose a new principal for Peabody Veterans Memorial High School as early as Monday after site visits to North Andover High School on Friday and Beverly Middle School on Monday. Murtagh narrowed the list of finalists for the job to Beverly Middle School Principal Matthew Poska and North Andover High School Assistant Principal Brooke Randall after interviews with four finalists last month.

Jennifer DeStefano, the former principal of Salem High and assistant principal at Beverly High, and Nathan Lamar, the academic program coordinator at Northeast Metropolitan Technical High, did not make the final cut, according to the Salem News, which first reported this story. The opening was created in July when Eric Buckley unexpectedly resigned after six years on the job.
