Breaking Grounds Cafe Formally Opens Doors
After the cafe's soft opening last month, city leaders joined the hosts and employees in a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday.
PEABODY, MA – Within a week of its opening last month, Breaking Grounds Cafe already had regular customers. And with the cafe's formal ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday morning, business is expected to grow.
Northeast Arc board members Ken Klaiman, Julie Cummings, Chris Lovasco, Don Fournier (board president) and Michael Foraste joined Northeast Arc CEO Jo Ann Simons, Mayor Ted Bettencourt, and Tim Brown, Director of Innovation and Strategy at the Northeast Arc, at the ceremonial ribbon cutting for Breaking Grounds on Nov. 21.
During her opening remarks at the grand opening for Breaking Grounds, Simons was joined by Chris Stark of Wakefield. Stark is one of four hosts that are learning a variety of jobs in the food services industry at the cafe with the goal of moving on to competitive employment in another food establishment.
