Shrubbery assault, cat rescues, and other items from the Peabody Police log.

  • A sinkhole and water main break on Lowell Street closed a portion of the road on Tuesday around 4 p.m. Tuesday.
  • Officers responded to a report of two people on a front porch on Emmet Street ringing the doorbell and refusing to leave around 7 p.m. Tuesday. Police checked the area and could not find anyone.
  • A caller reported a man pushing and hitting bushes in the Leather City Commons on Lowell Street around 9 p.m. Tuesday. Police spoke to the man and sent him on his way.
  • Police advised a woman to leave a can of tuna at the base of a tree on Sunset Drive for a cat she reported was stuck in a tree around 8 a.m. Wednesday. The officer told her to give it a day to come down on its own, and to call the Animal Rescue League of Boston if it didn't.
