'Spelling Bee Bandit' Hits Peabody Bank

The man hit four banks since October, and has landed on the FBI's most wanted list.

PEABODY, MA – Last Sunday, a man robbed the TD Bank at 79 Lynnfield St. in Peabody. The same man is believed to be responsible for three similar robberies over the last two weeks.

In each case, according to an FBI Wanted poster, the white man in his 30s or 40s entered the bank, put on sunglasses, and wrote "Robery" [sic] on the back of a withdrawal slip, and passed it to the teller.

According to the FBI, the suspect has grown increasingly aggressive with each robbery.

The robberies occurred Oct. 31, Nov.5, Nov. 7, and Nov. 13, in Arlington, Reading, Burlington, and Peabody.

The man is described as slim, between 5'11" and 6'2" with dark hair and a "local accent." At the Peabody robbery he was wearing jeans, a dark jacket, dark sneakers with white soles, and a Patriots hat.
