ICYMI: Health Clubs Target of Vehicle Break-Ins: Peabody Police

A dozen cars broken into at three health clubs over the weekend.

PEABODY, MA - Police are investigating nearly a dozen vehicle break-ins that happened Saturday morning at two Newbury Street health clubs.

At about 11 a.m. on Saturday, police responded to multiple reports of vehicle break-ins at two locations targeted by the suspects: Workout World at 216 Newbury Street and Latitude Sports Club at 194 Newbury Street.

Eleven cars wore broken into between the two locations.

The thieves broke the windows of the vehicles and pocketbooks containing personal items were reported stolen.

On Friday, police had responded to a report of a vehicle break-in at the Peabody YMCA on Lynnfield Street.

Police are urging residents to use general precautions if it is necessary to leave personal items in a vehicle, such as securing belongings in a trunk or other area that isn't visible from the outside of the vehicle.

The investigations to the recent health club vehicle break-ins are ongoing.
