Local Police Step Up Patrols To Combat Anti Semitism

In light of reports of anti-Semitic incidents across New England, one local police force is working preemptively.

PEABODY, MA – While there have been no specific threats against any Jewish communities in Peabody, Peabody Police recently announced that they would work to preserve safety in the community.

Police Chief Tom Griffin said in the announcement that patrols in designated areas, with both plainclothes and uniformed police officers, will be increased.

"Although there have been no recent specific threats or incidents within the city we need to remain vigilant and protect the people and places of gatherings within the Jewish community," said Griffin. "Our community policing officers will continue to meet with members of the Jewish community to address their concerns; if we all work together we can prevail over the alarming increase of these disturbing events."
