A Man Ran Away Into Wetlands: Peabody Police Log

- Police took a report of a broken iPod after someone reported that it was broken during a possible break in on Thursday around 4 p.m.
- Officers helped a person find their vehicle in the Northshore Mall parking lot on Andover Street on Thursday after 4 p.m.
- An intoxicated person reportedly was banging on a front door on Hancock Street around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday
- Amy T. Atkins, 46, of Salem, was arrested on charges of drunken driving, leaving the scene of property damage, and negligent driving last Friday around 1 a.m. after a report of a car accident on Putnam Street.
- A homeowner reported a man sitting in her bushes on Winnegance Avenue on Friday around 11:30 a.m. When the man spotted the caller, he reportedly jumped the fence and went into the wetlands behind the home. Officers did not locate the man.
- Police responded to a car that went into a snow bank on Friday around 8 p.m. on Lowell Street.
- Animal Control responded to a report of a raccoon growling at the resident from a chimney on Madison Avenue on Friday around 8 p.m. Police didn't find the animal.
- A pizza shop window was reportedly damaged in an assault incident on Friday around 11 p.m. The victim was transported to Salem Hospital with a laceration to the face.
- Julio C. Cruz, 49, of Peabody, was arrested on charges of drunken driving, and having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday after police responded to a report of a man "passed out" behind the wheel of a car on First Avenue. Cruz was arrested again around 11:30 p.m. on charges of drunken driving, failing to stay in the marked lanes, driving with a suspended license, and assault and battery, after a report of a car accident on Lynn Street.
- Police took a report of a loose "fluffy dog" in the area of Lake Street on Sunday around 11 a.m.
