Man Requests Police Tranquilize Deer

Tuesday, June 12

  • At 3:19 p.m., security reported trouble with youths in the food court. Police sent the kids on their way.
  • A cat named "Abigail" with a pink collar with skulls on it was reported missing at 3:48 p.m from Pulaski Street.
  • At 4:46 p.m., an Andover Street building owner reported a window was broken and he had a suspect.
  • At 5:28 p.m., police received a call that someone had started a brush fire on Spring Pond Road. The fire was extinguished.
  • At 6 p.m., a resident of Hampshire Road reported a problem with his landscaper. The landscaper reportedly raised his prices without letting him know and then threatened him.
  • At 6:34 p.m., police responded to a dog fight on Winnegance Avenue. A pitbull was attacking another dog, according to witnesses. The dogs were seperated by the time police arrived. One dog was in need of medical attention.
  • At 6:43 p.m., an employee of on Washington Street reported a woman with a walker, attempting to sell cigerettes to children.
  • At 7:05 p.m., police arrested Austin Taylor Shea, 17, 19 Victory Road, Salem, and charged him with shoplifting over $100, malicious destruction of property over $250, malicious destruction of property under $250. A second man, from Beverly, was issued a summons for shoplifting at Macy's Mens' and Furniture Store.

  • At 1:02 a.m., police were called to Burke St. for a report a man was assaulted outside of his home. The two men fled on foot and were described as wearing dark, hooded sweatshirts and one was wearing a mask.
  • At 9:15 a.m., a resident of Colonial Road reported a man in their yard. Police said the man was checking meters.
  • reported $3,200 stolen from a storage cabinet at 10:39 a.m.
  • At 11:31 a.m., a motorcycle was reported stolen from a Lake St. residence.
  • At 12:15 p.m., one person was taken to the hospital after a motor vehicle crash on King Street.
  • At 12:42 p.m., a resident of Westview Circle reported a deer in the yard. The resident requested police tranquilize the deer, according to police. Police told the man to leave the gate open so the deer could leave on its own. The man told police he didn't want to do that because the deer was in a residential area. Police advised the man to call Mass Wild Life and Environmental Police for further instruction.
