Man Says Daughter's Boyfriend Threatened to Kill Him and His Wife for $500

The following excerpts are from reports in the Peabody Police Department press log on Oct. 6-7.

Sunday, Oct. 6

• 2:19 p.m. The Fire Department responded to a report of a person stuck in an elevator at the Tannery Apartments on Crowninshield Street.
• 2:28 p.m. Report of a neck injury on the football field at Bishop Fenwick. One person was transported to Salem Hospital.
• 2:42 p.m. Employees at the Walgreens on Route 114 reported a shoplifting incident. The suspects fled in a blue Volkswagen Beetle.
• 3:12 p.m. A caller at a Goodale Street home reported his daughter's boyfriend made a threat to kill him and his wife for $500. A 19-year-old Lawrence male was subsequently issued a court summons on a charge of making threats.
• 3:28 p.m. Security at Long's Jewelers reported a person tried to use a stolen or fraudulent credit card to make a purchase. The suspects were described as two Hispanic males and a white female who all left the area in a newer model Hyundai sedan.
• 3:56 p.m. A car struck a police cruiser while attempting to make a turn onto Pulaski Street in Wilson Square. The cruiser was towed to the station.
• 6:03 p.m. Danvers police requested officers try to contact a Gates Road resident who was involved in an attempted theft of a catalytic converter at the Liberty Tree Mall. Police checked the home and said no one was there. Police said a blonde female was possibly driving the vehicle with a dark-skinned male passenger who had a yellow toolbox.
• 8:38 p.m. One person was transported to the hospital from a Ralph Road home for a heroin overdose.
• 9:13 p.m. The owner at Red's Kitchen & Tavern reported two employees stole cash from the restaurant. A 22-year-old Peabody woman and a 20-year-old Salem female were both issued court summonses for larceny over $250.

Monday, Oct. 7

• 8:13 a.m. A Jeffrey Street resident reported a female stranger was banging on her front door. An officer said the woman was just a landscaper and another resident of the home had actually arranged a meeting with her.
• 8:23 a.m. Report of an electrical fire in the kitchen at Higgins Middle School.
• 9:14 a.m. A lockdown drill was conducted at the Welch School.
• 10:04 a.m. A tractor-trailer knocked down some wires at the intersection of King and Lowell streets. Police said a traffic light was also knocked down.
• 11:53 a.m. An employee at the Peabody Supply Company on Pulaski Street reported there was a hawk inside the warehouse. The animal control officer advised they contact MassWildlife or the Animal Rescue League to remove the bird.
