North Shore Summer Pop-Tab Collection Drive Kicks Off 4th Year
The collections support the local chapter of the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

PEABODY, MA — The fourth annual North Shore pop-tab collection drive to support the local chapter of the Ronald McDonald House Charities kicks off this week with the recycling from collections going toward providing families of those undergoing treatments at New England hospitals housing and supplies during their stay.
"The fantastic support from participants all over the North Shore has been humbling," State Rep. Thomas Walsh (D-Peabody) said. "I sincerely thank our local press for their involvement in building awareness of this great organization committed to families in need."
Those interested in participating in the pop-tab drive are encouraged to contact Rep. Walsh with questions or for pick-up arrangements by email at tpw6@comcast.net.

Following Labor Day, the collected pop-tabs will be delivered to the RMHC-NE Boston location, where the aluminum pop-tabs will be recycled, with proceeds benefiting the charity's programming.
"We are thrilled to be partnering with Representative Walsh for his annual summer pop-tab drive to support children and families at our Ronald McDonald Houses in Boston and Rhode Island," said RMHCNE CEO Lauren Hoops-Schmieg. "Donations through the pop-tab campaign enable us to offer a comforting, home-like environment to families during long medical treatments.

"We would also greatly appreciate assistance with receiving items from our Amazon and Target Wish Lists — which include essential household items like laundry detergent and bed linens that are vital for caring for the families we serve."
