Peabody Baseball, Softball Begin Playoff Runs This Week
Both the varsity softball and baseball teams in Peabody are back in the the MIAA Division I North playoffs this year.

With solid regular season records, the Peabody High varsity baseball and softball teams will be traveling to the playoffs again.
The high school baseball team, seeded 4th, is playing either Lowell or Lincoln-Sudbury in the first round of the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Division I North sectionals at 4 p.m. this Saturday at home.
The winner of that game will play in the Division I quarter finals on June 3.

The baseball team currently has a 18-4 record. Last year's playoff run ended in the first round against Lynn English.
The high school softball team, with a 13-5 record in Division I, has a bye in the preliminary round and will be playing either Acton-Boxborough or North Andover in the first round. The MIAA softball Division I first round will be played in Peabody at a location to be decided.

The Tanners are seeded 6th and return from a preliminary round loss to Andover last year.
Bishop Fenwick's baseball team (16-4) is also seeded No. 2 in the Division III North bracket and will host the winner of Friday's Shawsheen/Bedford game at home at Fenwick on Sunday (4 p.m.).
Fenwick softball (11-11) is seeded 20th in the Division I North bracket and visits Woburn Thursday (3:30 p.m.) for a preliminary round game.
