Peabody Declares Snow Emergency Parking Ban For Weekend Winter Storm
The ban will begin early Saturday night and continue into Sunday.

PEABODY, MA — Peabody has declared a snow emergency parking ban starting at 6 p.m. on Saturday with up to 7 inches of snow expected to fall across parts of Massachusetts before mixing with ice and then rain along the coast.
All cars not removed from public roads are subject to ticketing and towing.
The National Weather Service is calling for 3 to 7 inches of snow across interior Massachusetts with a glaze to a few tenths of an inch of ice possible on top of that.

The NWS said snow will develop after 5 p.m. on Saturday and then become heavy into the evening. Snow will continue into the early morning hours before turning to sleet and then rain near the coast between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m.
Rain, freezing rain and sleet will extend across the state by 7 a.m. with mostly rain in eastern Massachusetts after 9 a.m. on Sunday.

However, interior sections and the higher terrain of Worcester County and the North Shore could endure an extended period of ice.
The Peabody parking ban will continue until further notice.
