Few Voters, Fewer Surprises In Peabody Election
In the Ward 1 City Council Race, Craig Welton defeated Russell Donovan and will be one of two new faces on city council

PEABODY, MA — It was an incumbent-friendly night in Peabody, with all candidates seeking reelection to ward seats on City Council winning their races. In Ward 1, the only city council race where the incumbent did not seek reelection, Craig Welton defeated Russell Donovan, according to unofficial results.
In the at-large city council race, where seven candidates ran for five open seats, incumbents Anne Manning-Martin, Ryan Melville and Tom Rossignoll were all re-elected. Jon Turco, who gave up his Ward 1 seat on city council to run for an at-large seat, and Tom Gould rounded out the winners.
In the only other contested race on the ballot, Charles Bonfanti defeated Ray Melvin for light commissioner.
