PEABODY, MA — Main Street in Peabody was shut down temporarily on Friday afternoon as crews battled a downtown fire, Peabody police said at about 12:30 p.m.

Peabody fire crews were battling a blaze in the Main Street building that houses the popular pizza shop Santoro's on Friday, according to multiple emergency services reports.

Engine 5 said all crews were released from the scene at about 2 p.m.
