Peabody Roof Opened As House Fire Hits Second Alarm: Reports
Fire crews opened the roof as they battled the blaze on Carlton Street.

PEABODY, MA — Peabody fire crews opened the roof of a home on Carlton Street early Tuesday morning as they battled a blaze that reached two alarms.
Crews were pouring water on "heavy pockets of fire" within the 2.5-story building, according to emergency services reports.

There were no reports of injuries or anyone stuck in the building but WFXT-TV reported that eight adults and seven children were displaced in the fire.
The station said it was a passerby who saw the flames coming from the home and went to the door to alert the residents to get out.
