Peabody Man Arrested for Threats at Knifepoint

Thursday, June 14

  • At 2:27 p.m., a detail officer requested another officer speak with employees at after he observed a man hiding electronic equipment in the driveway, near Catholic Charities. The man had been on a bicycle prior to hiding a portable CD player and portable radio. Police did not find the man but took possession of the items. It was unclear whether the man was hiding them or just didn't want to carry them on his bicycle anymore.
  • At 4:21 p.m., police arrested Richard J. Nolet, 66, 30 Shore Drive., Peabody, and charged him with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon after he threatened another man with a knife.
  • Police arrested Nicholas O. Meserve, 20, 18 Buxton St., Danvers, and charged him with larceny over $250 and receiving stolen property over $250 after stealing a bicycle from
