Peabody Man Gets 10 Years In Federal Child Porn Case
Raymond P. Scanzani, 62, of Peabody, pleaded guilty in October to writing an online manual for pedophiles.
PEABODY, MA — A Peabody man who already served eight years on federal child pornography charges was sentenced Tuesday to 10 years in prison. Raymond P. Scanzani, 62, formerly of 85 Andover Street in Peabody, pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography in October. That charge stemmed from accusations Scanzani wrote and distributed an illustrated "how-to" manual on finding and grooming potential victims.
Scanzani was already on lifetime parole after serving an eight-year federal prison sentence on child porn charges. That sentence came after he was convicted of sharing child pornography through online file-sharing services in 2006.
FBI agents found nearly three dozen child pornography images on a computer and camera when they executed a search warrant of a Scanzani's home in July 2018.
