Peabody Murder Suspect Pleads Not Guilty
The circumstances surrounding the double homicide in Peabody remain a mystery.

PEABODY, MA – Wes Doughty, the second suspect in the double homicide last week, will be held without bail after a not guilty plea was submitted Tuesday morning in Peabody District Court. Little is known about the case that led a manhunt for Doughty last week, as prosecutors moved to seal the court documents.
Doughty, who is accused of two counts of murder related to the deaths of Mark Greenlaw and Jennifer O'Connor, looked gaunt on Tuesday. It is unclear if family or friends of the suspect or victims were in the courtroom, but reporters filled the front row.
John Apruzzese, the attorney representing Doughty, said after the arraignment that "everyone has heard the Commonwealth's version of events," but soon they would hear Doughty's. Doughty said one thing in court: That his handcuffs were too tight, according to Apruzzese.

Doughty will appear in Salem District Court on Thursday to answer to the Middleton carjacking charges. He will be back in court on April 6 for a probable cause hearing.
Michael Hebb, the first suspect police caught, was arraigned last week. He also pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder, and was held without bail.
