Peabody Opens New Basketball, Pickleball Courts
The courts were set to open Friday at Lakeshore Park.
PEABODY, MA —Hoop players and fledging pickleball enthusiasts have a new spot in Peabody to put their skills on display.
The new basketball and pickleball courts at Lakeshore Park were set to open on Friday.
"These beautiful courts will help breathe new life into a beloved neighborhood park that has been underutilized in recent years," Peabody Mayor Ted Bettencourt said.

Bettencourt gave special appreciation to the Community Preservation Committee and the Parks & Recreation Department for helping facilitate the park improvement project.
Bettencourt also gave an update on a few other park projects in the city.

He said the Buckley Field Track behind the Senior Center on Central Street will be resurfaced in September.
He added that improvements are slated for Marrs Park, Barts Park off Bartholomew Street, Kiley School Park, Norma Jean Park off Benevento Circle and the Coach Bob Driscoll Skating Rink and Recreation Area on Perkins Street.
