PEABODY, MA — Peabody Police Officer Joe Coup and K9 Ozzy assisted in a Chelsea apartment search Friday that resulted in the seizure of suspected crack cocaine and powder cocaine and led to cocaine trafficking charges against a Chelsea man.

Chelsea police said Jose Eduardo Baez Baez, 29, was charged after the Peabody police and K9 unit conducted the search that police said uncovered the cocaine, drug packaging materials, a digital scale and currency "believed to be proceeds from drug sales."

The suspected narcotics were submitted to the State Police Drug Lab for official analysis.
