Peabody Snow Emergency Parking Ban Called Ahead Of Tuesday Storm
The parking ban begins Monday night and will last "until further notice."

PEABODY, MA — A citywide snow emergency parking ban was declared for Peabody ahead of a snowstorm expected to arrive on Tuesday morning.
Peabody officials said the parking ban was to begin at midnight on Monday night and last "until further notice."
All vehicles must be removed from public roads with those left subject to ticketing and towing.

Officials said the city's "blue lights" will be turned on as of 4 p.m. to provide notice of the parking ban and that towing will begin at midnight.
The call comes ahead of what could be among the North Shore's biggest storms of the past two years with up to 8 inches or more expected during an intense stretch of snow between Tuesday morning and late Tuesday afternoon.

Forecasters saw the track of the storm shifting slightly south compared to predictions made over the weekend. But that shift would still mean a serious storm for a wide swath of the state between Worcester, Boston and Plymouth.
As much as 14 inches could fall in that area beginning between 1 and 4 a.m. Tuesday —a major complication for rush hour and flights out of Logan Airport.
It's possible areas south of the Mass Pike and into Rhode Island could get hit hardest by the storm due to concentrated pockets of snowfall in that area. There is a chance anywhere between 12 and 18 inches could stack up in isolated areas, particularly Worcester County.
