Peabody Schools Closed Tuesday, Snow Emergency Parking Ban Declared
Those who do not remove their vehicles from public roads by midnight are subject to ticketing and towing.

PEABODY, MA — A snow emergency parking ban was declared for Peabody starting at midnight Monday night ahead of what could be one of the more significant North Shore snowfalls all winter.
Superintendent Josh Vadala also said late Monday afternoon that all Peabody Public Schools, including Passos Avante, will be closed on Tuesday.
The North Shore is predicted to see up to six inches of snow with precipitation beginning Monday night around 10 p.m. and continuing throughout the morning and afternoon on Tuesday.

All parked vehicles must be removed from public roads as of midnight. Those vehicles that are not removed are subject to ticketing and towing.

The parking ban will stay in effect until further notice.
The National Weather Service forecast calls for the heaviest snowfall coming Monday night, resulting in difficult travel conditions. Wind gusts of up to 35 mph are also expected.
"The snow should develop between 10 p.m. (Monday) and 2 a.m. Tuesday," according to The NWS. "Snow continues on Tuesday impacting the morning commute. Snow will diminish in intensity Tuesday afternoon and may even mix with or change to rain near the coast.
"In addition ... temps rising above freezing will likely limit the impact for the Tuesday afternoon commute."
